Aluminium 6063 is an aluminium-silicon-magnesium alloy, typically composed of aluminium (the balance), silicon (0.2–0.6%), and magnesium (0.45–0.9%). This alloy is celebrated for its outstanding surface finish, good corrosion resistance, and decent strength, particularly in the T5 and T6 tempers. It boasts a tensile strength of about 190–240 MPa and a yield strength of around 160–200 MPa.
